With 1 in 88 American children on the autism spectrum, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there’s a growing need for advanced teaching methods. The Manhattan Children’s Center, a private school on the Upper West Side that serves around 40 students with autism spectrum disorders, began using the iPad in 2010.
