NYC Department of Ed expands transfer policy to all phase-out schools

The DOE announced a change to its school transfer policy for students at phase-out schools, Schoolbook.org reported. All students will now be eligible to apply to new unscreened schools this spring, instead of only students attending low-performing “priority” or “status” schools. Lower performing students in phase-out schools will get priority in the choice process.
