Chicago Charter Schools Added to Schools Closing List

On Wednesday, the Chicago Public Schools district CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett announced that six charter schools were added to a school closure “warning list” because of poor performance. The schools must now show progress in performance by September or be forced to “execute a remediation plan” according to reports from the Huffington Post. And according to DNAInfo Chicago, Wednesday’s news came after Chicago Public Schools suggested to close two other charter schools for underperformance as well.
