Growth in School Hiring Higher than Growth in Students

In an Education News report, findings showed that since the 1950s, the number of teachers and non-faculty staff has outpaced student growth. Data published by The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice says that the number of teachers and full-time staff grew by 386 percent while the number of students grew by 96 percent. The research also finds that when observed through test scores and graduation rates, the country still has not benefited from this rapid increase in school-related jobs.
