In Enfield, CT school board votes to put armed guards in elementary schools

In the wake of a mass shooting at Sandyhook Elementary School, the school board of a Connecticut town ruled in a 5-4 vote to put armed guards in elementary schools, the Hartford Courant reports. Many parents support the decision, but about 30 high school students lead a rally outside town hall in protest. Enfield is not the first of Connecticut’s towns to arm its security guards since the shooting in Newtown on Dec. 14.
