Disparities found in school punishment

A Columbia Law School and African American Policy Forum report has some serious findings.

  • African American girls are 10 times more likely to be punished in school compared to white girls in New York City. The national average is 6:1.
  • African American boys in New York City are six times more likely to be punished that their caucasian counterparts. The national average is 3:1.
