Hundreds of people gathered at a public hearing last Thursday to debate the proposed location for another Success Academy site, according to the New York Times. Former city councilwoman Eva Moskowitz, who runs the Success Academy charter network, selected Junior High School 50 in Williamsburg to co-locate for a new K-4 charter school. J.H.S. 50’s building already hosts another school, which is in the process of relocating.
Parents, teachers, and advocates were divided in support for Moskowitz’s plan. Another Success Academy location is proposed to open in Cobble Hill.
