State Will Impose Its Own Teacher Rating System On June 1st If City and Union Fail To Strike Deal

The New York Daily News reports that Gov. Cuomo will have the state impose its own teacher evaluation system in city schools if New York City officials and the teacher’s union do not  agree on system by June 1st. The city has already lost $250 million in school funding after the city and teacher’s union could not strike a deal in January.  The state is intervening to make sure no additional funding is lost if the two opposing sides do not come up with a plan on teacher ratings once again.
