U.S. News and World report released its annual Best High Schools Report, and for the fourth consecutive year, Texas’ School for the Talented and Gifted retained its No.1 spot.
The data show that it’s incredibly difficult to achieve a gold, silver or bronze medal under the U.S. Newsmethodology. Of the more than 19,000 eligible schools, only 6,517 were awarded medals, and just 7.7 percent of those received gold. Gold medal schools are those whose students demonstrate the highest level of college readiness.
When ranking states with the most stars, New York comes in 6th place. Schools are judged based on its students’ college readiness. Read more here.
