Diane Ravitch, an education historian and vocal critic of recent education policy trends, has launched a new advocacy group that will endorse political candidates committed to safeguarding schools from “privatization,” Education Week reported. The group, called the Network for Public Education, will also donate funds to political candidates whose agendas reject education policy measures like high-stakes testing and mass school closures, which Ravitch adamantly opposes. The group had raised $10,000 by Thursday afternoon.
