Giving a Voice to the Voiceless with iPads

 

With 1 in 88 American children on the autism spectrum, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there’s a growing need for advanced teaching methods. The Manhattan Children’s Center, a private school onĀ  the Upper West Side that serves around 40 students with autism spectrum disorders, began using the iPad in 2010.

In this video, teachers at the Manhattan Children’s Center explain how the iPad helps children with speech difficulties by giving them a voice.
