On Monday, April 9, most New York City students were enjoying a relaxing day on spring break. For students in the college readiness program Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, however, it was just another full day of classes. By having students come in for additional instruction over breaks, on weekends, and after school, the staff at the nonprofit hopes to ensure that they are not just prepared to attend four-year colleges but that they are prepared to graduate from them as well.
