Several Parents Announce Boycott of High-Stakes Standardized Tests in NYC

At a press conference today at the Bloomingdale Family Program on the Upper West Side, several parents announced that they would be boycotting the high-stakes standardized testing, which begins in schools in the city and state tomorrow, by opting their children out. Six parents – unaffiliated with any organization – ran the press conference. They will submit a letter that says their children refuse to take the test tomorrow. A more detailed account of the conference will be posted here later on. Stay tuned.

The Journal News in White Plains and the Adirondack Daily Enterprise both report on parents opting their children out of high-stakes standardized testing in the state.
